Ok, thanks to my poor time management skills, I’ve had to re-start completely with the whole 1.1.3 upgrade to my iPhone. (Hopefully this wont mean doing a system restore, doesn’t look like it will.) I’ll pick up again where I left off when I get that far again.

Ok. The 1.1.3 iPhone Jailbreak software is out. I’m ready to try the upgrade on my phone. I’m currently running 1.1.2 jailbroken. A link in the comments on a post at Engadget led me to Nawaf’s site where he has a complete list of instructions for how to get your iPhone up to 1.1.3 and still have all your unofficial native apps.

Apparently today is the 50th anniversary of LEGO. Kick ass. Google seems to think so too.

There’s a good how-to over at the RoR Wiki but I’m going to repost a quick & dirty reference here, mostly for my own benefit the next time I go through this.

The point is to ignore sensitive info in the database.yml file, and the ever-changing log & tmp directories. I’m no SVN guru, so feel free to point out flaws in this system.

Reading over Wil Wheaton’s review of Star Trek TNG episode Justice, I made the mistake of clicking on the Star Trekkin link. The wikipedia entry links to this site for lyrics and an MP3 (which I have mirrored) of the song.

Google then one-upped the MP3 with a YouTube video that I’ve embedded here to ensure that no one ever comes back.

One of my Twitter followers posted a link to a Star Trek Wiki called Memory Alpha. Looking over the site reminded me that I’d seen the trailer for the new movie on YouTube, so here it is:

My latest rails project involves uploading images, and having them automagically thumbnailed. So far, it isn’t looking so good.

Google pointed me at the attachment_fu plugin and a how-to by Mike Clark. Attachment Fu was a pretty simple install/config. Now I can upload images.

I spent most of this evening screwing around with iPhoto, going through some of my older pictures & editing/arranging them. Feeling rather adventurous, I started playing around with iWeb & dotMac. When I posted the pictures from last week’s road trip, I had my first experience with the new galleries, today I decided to play with iWeb’s photo pages.

I’ve fiddled with iWeb before, and to be quite honest, I find it very simplistic-both in use and capability. I’ve always preferred hand-coding my web sites, but the integration between the iLife programs makes them very easy to use for those “less technically snobbish” than I.

So, without further ado, I give you my iWeb site.

After working all night Tuesday, Trevor & I jumped in the CRV & headed out north-west of Phoenix.

I wound up leaving straight from work, completely unprepared for any sort of adventuring. Luckily Sharon met us for breakfast and brought some essentials.
