When social media goes bad: An Un-collaborative Wiki

To you and I, it might seem that a wiki is the quintessential piece of social networking. Group created. Group edited. Group consciousness.
However, in a recent school assignment, I have been tasked with creating a wiki that no one else can/will/should ever edit.
To me, that would be what those of us in the industry call a “website”, except for the fact that it must be created with the MediaWiki (think Wikipedia) software.
I’ve decided to play along with this little game, in my own non-conformist way. What I would like to do is create a list of several social media applications and how they can be used in education.
In true wiki fashion, I’d like to get some input from the people that know social media best: you.
If you’d be interested in contributing to my un-collaborative wiki, please let me know in the comments. If there’s enough interest, I’ll just create a completely open wiki on the site, but for now my plan is to just copy & paste your contribution into our closed wiki (that seems more asinine every time I type it).
Thanks for the support, I know it’s a holiday week!
